A company family day that works for kids and parents alike

A family day succeeds when it speaks to three age groups at once. So we've built it in zones: one for the little ones, one for teens, one for adults — with shared experiences to finish.

What we recommend for this event

Every one of these is from our own inventory, available to rent with staff.

Claw Game — Spring–autumn, weekends

Claw Game

The number one magnet for kids. Fill it with plush toys or small company items so every child wins something and parents relax.

Retro Arcade — Spring–autumn, weekends

Retro Arcade

Parents get nostalgic, kids discover something new — very few activities hold two generations at once, and this is one of them.

Virtual Reality — Spring–autumn, weekends

Virtual Reality

The teen zone. Short 3-5 minute sessions so the queue keeps moving and everyone gets a turn.

TapTap — Spring–autumn, weekends

TapTap

Dad versus son — the most common duel at a family day. Short rounds, instant results, and everyone comes back for a rematch.

Football Drills — Spring–autumn, weekends

Football Drills

An outdoor corner for kids and adults alike: passing accuracy, shot power, speed. Easy to build an all-day leaderboard on.

AI photo booth — Spring–autumn, weekends

AI photo booth

A family AI photo: superhero styling lands with the kids, a storybook portrait with the parents. A photo that genuinely ends up on the fridge.

360 Spinner — Spring–autumn, weekends

360 Spinner

The whole family fits on the platform at once. The group video ends up being the most-shared content of the day.

Prinker — Spring–autumn, weekends

Prinker

Washable tattoos in seconds — the biggest hit with children, and the queue moves fast.

Lucky Spin — Spring–autumn, weekends

Lucky Spin

Everybody wins something, so no child leaves disappointed. A good tool for getting families to walk the whole site.

Hurricane Wind Tunnel — Spring–autumn, weekends

Hurricane Wind Tunnel

There's always a crowd around the wind cabin because watching is half the fun. It lands with teens and adults alike.

Marble Race — Spring–autumn, weekends

Marble Race

A calmer skill station for younger kids — a good counterpoint to the loud zones.

Zoning is what makes it work

The most common mistake is putting every station in one block: loud VR ends up next to a toddler skill game and both suffer. Split the site into kids, teen and family zones — parents then know where to take their child, and no single mega-queue forms.

Throughput and queues

A family day can put 300-800 people through the site in a day. Plan short, 1-3 minute activities near the entrance and place the longer, 5-minute experiences (VR, 360) further back. It's the simplest way to stop the crowd bottlenecking at the gate.

// Gifie + Snack Supply

And if food is on the list…

And if food is on the list: candy floss, popcorn and slush aren't extras at a family day, they're basics. With Snack Supply they can sit in the same quote as your activities.

Cotton candy

The mandatory family-day station, spun on site.

Popcorn

Branded bags, served continuously.

Slushie

The fastest-emptying station at a summer family day.

Corn on the cob station

Custom concept

A classic outdoor favourite. Custom concept – ask us for a quote.

Pretzel & snack counter

Savoury bites for the morning stretch.

Bubble Tea Bar

The favourite of the teen zone.

Snack Supply event catering

Custom concepts we'd build for this

These aren't off-the-shelf rentals but concepts: if one appeals, we'll talk through the build and the lead time.

Custom concept

Family passport

Every family gets a passport and collects a stamp at each station. Full passport = prize. It gets families walking the whole site instead of the two stations nearest the entrance.

Custom concept

Generation duel

A parent-versus-child leaderboard aggregated across several games, with separate categories. A simple idea, but the end-of-day announcement keeps momentum going all afternoon.

Example combinations

Starting points. We adapt any of them to your headcount, venue and budget — pricing always comes in a tailored quote.

Kids Zone

For ages 3-10: prizes, tattoos, a skill game and sweets in one corner.

Not sure which one to pick?

Tell it your headcount, venue and vibe, and Gifie Match will put a concrete shortlist together — it already knows which event type you're on.

Frequently asked questions

How many activities do we need for 500 guests?
From experience, 6-8 stations is the ratio where no queue exceeds 15 minutes. If the event runs under 4 hours, more fast stations beat fewer long ones.
What happens if it rains?
Most activities run under a marquee. During planning we flag which ones definitely need cover and give you a plan B.
Do the stations need staff?
Yes, and every activity comes with a Gifie host who runs the machine and manages the queue. That's included — you don't have to assign colleagues to it.
